💰 Best BudgetWhat we like
- ↑Designed for two - BGG's player-count poll recommends it at two
- ↑Cooperative: each player sees only part of the shared key, so both give and guess clues
- ↑400 new words that also mix with the original Codenames
- ↑Won the 2018 International Gamers Award for two-player games
- ↑Second edition adds a revised word list, refreshed art, a better insert and a streamlined rulebook
Worth knowing
- ↓Choosing an assassin ends the game instantly, so a round can end early
- ↓Harder to win than it looks - the timer tokens run out fast
- ↓Word game, so it needs fluent English at the table
